Txirîti songs

Sacred chants
shared with care

There are various types of chants and prayers in Noke Koî culture, depending on the context. Among them are Saíte, Shoiti, Kaachitî, and Txirîti, which are used in celebrations and spiritual ceremonies of Oni (Ayahuasca).

The sacred Txirîti chants are the best known and can be transmitted to people with a genuine interest in deepening their understanding of Noke Koî spirituality.

Vana Noke Koî

Vana Noke Koî is one of the leaders of his village. Raised on Indigenous land in the heart of the forest, he underwent processes of physical and spiritual strengthening from a young age.

Today he preserves the knowledge of more than one hundred traditional Txirîti songs, as well as the Shenipavo — stories of the Noke Koî Indigenous people — practices, customs, and spiritual teachings of the Noke Koî worldview.

Vana was mentored by two great elders: his grandfather, Pajé Mekê Wanînawa, a teacher of the traditional Txirîti chants, and his great-uncle, Pajé Kochti Kamãnawa, the last shaman of a strong lineage of Romeyas recognized throughout the Noke Koî people for his knowledge.
